Kashmir Great Lakes Trek

Day 1: Arrive at Sonamarg

Day 2: Sonamarg to Nichnai via Shekdur

The Kashmir Great Lake hike begins in Sonamarg and ends in Nichnai. Sonamarg is also Famous for the Amarnath Yatra. Enjoy the magnificent views and photograph the Sonamarg Valley. This base camp is suitable for adventurous trekkers who want to enjoy adventure camping at the hill station.

Day 3: Nichnai to Vishansar lake (1200 ft) via Nachnai Pass

Day 4: Acclimatization

Day 5: Vishansar lake to Gadsar via Gadsar Pass

It is a reasonably difficult hike in the Indian Himalayas and the most tranquil part of Kashmir. The fifth day of the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is the longest. The trek begins at Vishansar Lake and continues to Krishasar Lake, with views of the three Gadsar Lakes in between.

The trip ascends to the Gadsar pass, which is visible from Krishasar. In the background, you can see the beautiful blue sea and snow-capped mountains.

Day 6: Gadsar Pass to Satsar (12,00 ft)

After breakfast, we will trek to the Rasbal meadows. The Kashmir Great Lakes are made up of several valleys. This is the most straightforward day of the journey. It has numerous attractions and a bouquet of 11 alpine lakes.

We continue our walk via Satsar’s seven little lakes. Satsar Lake is located in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Day 7: Satsar to Gangabal Twin lakes via Zaj Pass

The walk begins at Satsar and ends in Gangabal. The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek concludes with this pass. Trekkers can enjoy the vista from Krishnasar, Vishnusar, Gadsar, Nandkol, and Gangabal. It is a moderately demanding hike that is suitable for both novice and experienced trekkers. Furthermore, both the spectacular alpine lakes (Gangabal and Nundkol) and the lovely camp Mount Haramukh may be seen from the peak of the last Gangabal Pass (5300 m). Nundkol campground is the trek’s final stop.

Day 8: Gangbal to Naranag (7450 ft), Drive to Srinagar

After breakfast, there will be time to go on an excursion to Naranag. The trek passes through deodar and pine forests. The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is one of the most scenic trekking routes in the Himalaya. Visit the Naga Temple, which was establish in the eighth century. Return to Srinagar and spend the night in a hotel.
