Guide to Dudhsagar Waterfalls
Dudhsagar Trek is one of India’s highest waterfalls and lies on the border of Goa, Karnataka. Like most trails, this one offers a wide variety of scenery, animals and flora. However, this journey has a bonus: it offers a railway track, something only a few treks around the globe offer.
Indian Rail Network and commercial tour companies use jeeps to transport tourists to the waterfall. The waterfall, which is white as milk, bursts from its highest point at 310m during monsoon season.

Do’s:
- Enjoy your journey (Monsoon is the best time to travel)
- You should bring rain gear (poncho, raincoat), shoes, flashlight, and enough food.
- During the monsoon, there are many streams that can supply water to your body. You will need to drink enough water for the entire walk in other seasons.
- Make sure you check your train tickets.
Don’t’s:
- Respect the environment, don’t pollute this beautiful spot.
- If a train approaches, walk away from the track and keep a safe distance.
- Do not walk in groups inside a tunnel. Walk one after another. Clean up your trash at the Dudhsagar campsite. It can be disposed of at the Indian Railways and Forest Department authorized disposal sites.
What should you bring on the Trek
It’s not the best way to pack your backpack. It will save you time when you need to find your belongings later. Spend some time learning how you can pack a bag.
What should I bring? On a hike, you only get what you bring. Even something so simple as a lost matchbox can cause serious problems with your cooking plans for the duration of your hike. It is important to plan well in advance. To get started, create a checklist. When shopping, keep it simple.
Everything must be lightweight. This makes your backpack light,” Sandhya UC (co-founder of Indiahikes) says. A mix of heavy and lightweight items will not produce the same results as having only light items. Sandhya recommends that you choose light-weight, high-quality items.
